When the government launched the Inflation Reduction Act, one of the benefits it offered Americans was the relaunch of energy-efficiency tax credits.
To qualify for the residential energy-efficient property credit, you’ll need to buy and install Energy Star Certified products (i.e., windows and/or doors) between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2022. How Much is the Energy Star Tax Credit Worth?
You’re only eligible to receive residential energy efficiency tax credits for the retail cost of the products. The installation costs you’ll have to pay out of pocket. The tax credit is valid for 10% of the product cost. However, the total amount of tax credits for energy-efficient products varies. Window installations have a max credit of $200, whereas you can get up to $500 for installing new doors. However, homeowners may only claim a total of $500 in credits.

- Material – NOVA Exteriors is a certified CertainTeed ShingleMaster outfit offering its customers a level 4 SureStart warranty. This provides the customer with opportunities for up to 50 years of coverage for labor and materials on most roofing products. Manufacturer’s warranties are transferable.
Do you offer financing and what payment options are available?
We offer Wells Fargo financing, which can be applied for directly through our website. Plans offered range from 18-month zero-percent interest to low-percent monthly installments. We also offer as little as 10% down on financed projects. We accept checks and all major credit cards. All estimates are free.

Manufacturer’s Warranties
- Roofing - SureStart Plus Level 3 & Level 4 Warranties, provided by CertainTeed, are sent to all homeowners via USPS within 45 days of the completed installation.
- Windows - Homeowners will be provided a link and order number to register the warranties, upon completion of the project.
- Doors - Homeowners will be provided a link and order number to register the warranties, upon completion of the project.
- Siding - Homeowners will be provided a link to register the warranties, upon completion of the project.

- Natural Slate: Due to the advances in the synthetic market, we have found that it has been more cost effective to stick to the synthetic slate products, eliminating the need or opportunity to install any natural slate.
- Natural Cedar: Nova Exteriors has installed many natural cedar roofing projects over the years, now with the advancement of synthetic technology, and the increase of natural wood pricing, there has been a drastic decline in natural cedar installation. In the local MD-VA area, there are many duplex/townhouse buildings that require 2 roofs to be tied in together. Altering the dimensions of an existing opening has to be done with the utmost consideration. Taking a window and using its existing width to bring it further down to the floor (aka cutdown) is something that Nova Exteriors can take on. An alteration of an opening (door or window) making it wider than an existing opening moves into changing the structure of an existing exterior wall. This will require architectural drawings, permits, and inspections. All of these will have a tremendous impact on the cost.
Nova Exteriors is not set up to perform business in this capacity and cannot create an alteration to widen an opening. Please keep this in mind when entertaining other contractors to get this type of work done. Further, consider electrical and HVAC as well as what may be on the outside of the exterior wall where you are doing the alteration because they may have a direct impact on the cost. Do you sell wood windows?
Nova Exteriors specializes in vinyl replacement windows. Due to the advancements in vinyl technology, especially in the last 10-15 years, and the increase in cost of natural products such as wood. We have seen a widening gap in the cost between vinyl and wood, with wood being way more expensive. Vinyl now, with its multi-chambered I - Beam construction, along with foam filled frames- and increased aesthetic design, has been able to match the beauty, strength and energy efficiency of wood for a ⅓ of the cost; while limiting the scarring, and expansion and contraction that make wood products difficult to open and close. If we add our ability to customize the opening, and create glass versatility, we find that vinyl replacement windows become nearly impossible to beat in the replacement window industry.
